The disappearing Internet

Speaking at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Eric Schmidt, Google’s executive chairman, told the gathering of world leaders that “the Internet will disappear.”

In his vision of the future world we’ll all be experiencing our digital connections as a seamless part of our everyday world, because there will be so many IP addresses… so many devices, sensors, things that we are wearing, things that we are interacting with that we won’t even sense it.

The new magical at-oneness with the digital world will be part of our presence all the time. Schmidt concluded: “A highly personalized, highly interactive and very, very interesting world emerges.”
